Don't Mess With Me

Elena is the protagonist of a short story I wrote. She's a half-dragon bounty hunter. Here, she has apparently caught up with one of her bounties... or someone tried to mug her, which isn't a good idea with a 9-foot-tall dragon.

As a half-dragon (as far as she knows, the only one) Elena has to walk a fine line between her human and dragon halves. The dragons of the world she's from have an almost irresistible desire to hunt. She's a bounty hunter by necessity, not by choice; she needs an outlet for her need to hunt.

Since many dragons are man-eaters, they are understandably viewed as monsters by most, and Elena has worked very hard not to become a monster herself. However, her dragon instincts can become overwhelming if she doesn't indulge them on occasion. Depending on what the situation here is, and whether or not she was ordered to bring the bounty back alive, this cat may very well be about to make a trip into Elena's stomach.

As a side note, I'm not totally set on that color scheme for her. I might try altering it some more later.
